Young Persons’ Forum

DHYP puts the voice of young people at the heart of the organisation

Our Young Persons’ Forum (YPF) provides the opportunity for young people to have their say on the services DHYP provides and have an input into wider consultations on matters that affect young people in Doncaster. The YPF is chaired by a client of the organisation and is open to all clients and non-clients in the age range 16-25.

The establishment of our Counselling and Wellbeing service followed feedback from the YPF about a lack of mental health services for young people in Doncaster. The YPF was also involved in the development of the Doncaster Children and Young People’s Plan.

As well as a consultative group, the YPF organises activities and fundraising events, such as the DHYP summer fair, raising funds for our client hardship fund.

Involvement in the YPF helps young people learn new skills, develop greater confidence and see the impact they can have in giving something back to their communities.
