Talking Matters
The name of the service – Talking Matters – reflects the importance of young people talking about issues they are struggling with.
As part of the wellbeing service, we provide one-to-one counselling sessions or simply an opportunity to talk about things that are bothering you. We do this in a person centred and completely non-judgemental way. All the sessions are provided by a qualified and experienced counsellor.
The issues we provide support with include the following:
- Anxiety
- Low self-esteem and confidence
- Family issues
- Relationship breakdown
- Emotional abuse
- Depression
Wellbeing Sessions
We provide a range of group wellbeing sessions, based on priorities identified by clients themselves. The topics include:
- Developing confidence and self-esteem
- Recognising and avoiding abusive relationships
- Drug awareness
- Sexual health awareness
- Alcohol awareness
- Personal safety
The sessions are very interactive and provide an opportunity for young people to talk about issues that affect them or that they are worried about.
