Wellbeing
We run wellbeing activities and discussion groups each month, based on the priorities identified by clients themselves. The topics include:
- Developing confidence and self-esteem
- Recognising and avoiding abusive relationships
- Drug awareness
- Sexual health awareness
- Alcohol awareness
- Personal safety
The sessions are very interactive and last up to 2 hours, providing an opportunity for young people to talk about issues that affect them or that they are worried about.
Talking Matters
As part of our wellbeing service we offer one-to-one counselling sessions with a qualified and experienced counsellor. The service is person centred and non-judgemental.
Young people are able to receive support with a range of issues, including:
- Family issues
- Relationship breakdown
- Low self-esteem and self-confidence
- Emotional abuse
- Anxiety
- Depression
The name of the counselling service – Talking Matters – reflects the importance of young people talking about issues that affect them.
